Families First

Addiction is a family disease.  Substance abuse does not just affect the user, it effects everyone in the family. The resident didn't become addicted all in one day and the likewise recovery for all won't come overnight. The more effort and open-mindedness each person involved brings to the table the quicker the pace of growth and healing.

Remember, everyone, not just the user is hurting. Your participation in Families First will shed light on the disease and eventually bring about some peace and understanding.

Families First

• Four week program
• Forum for healing both the resident and family members
• Educate family members about the impact of the disease on the family function
• Focus on both the resident and the family member to build recovery capital
• Help family members understand the Cenikor program and work directly with the residents
• Give family members valuable information on the abuse of drugs and alcohol from a number of perspectives; including first-hand users
