Mission, Vision and Core ValuesMissionTo assist people in developing the skills needed to become responsible citizens free of substance abuse. VisionTo be the model Therapeutic Community in the United States. We will expand our services, grow in our ability to serve our clients and the community, enhance our financial stability and operate in state of the art facilities with well-trained, dedicated personnel. Core ValuesCommunity as MethodCenikor's residents live within the Therapeutic Community (TC) where they learn and practice the tools necessary to overcome substance abuse disorders as well as the destructive behaviors that feed addiction. The TC offers a safe residential setting and employs a hierarchical model with treatment stages that reflect increased levels of personal and social responsibility. Peer influence and peer confrontation, mediated through a variety of group processes and clinical supervision helps residents develop skills necessary to live a productive life free from addiction. Recovery in a therapeutic community involves establishing or re-establishing healthy functioning, skills, and values as well as regaining physical and emotional health. In the TC, all activities and interpersonal and social interactions provide important opportunities to facilitate individual change. By applying the tools of the TC model, residents gain a sense of responsibility not only for their own recovery, but also for helping their peers. Residents of the therapeutic community learn to take responsibility for the change they seek by actively preparing for a successful, healthy future. FaithAlthough Cenikor is not a faith-based program, establishing a resident's individual spirituality is one of the most essential components of a wholesome, well-rounded recovery program. While in Cenikor, clients are encouraged to attend regular voluntary bible studies and attend a wide range of outside churches, congregations and functions to suit an individual's religious beliefs. Counseling and group discussions may also involve a resident's personal belief system involving their spiritual convictions or lack of the confidence in a higher power. Cenikor knows that a resident's spiritual foundation provides an excellent support system while in the program, upon graduation and a successful future. WorkAs employment is an essential element to functioning in society, it is a distinctive component of the TC model. All residents hold a job either within the facility or with a Cenikor Business Partner. Cenikor Business Partners provide residents work in a variety of industrial, construction, maintenance and other situations which lend themselves to building vocational skills. Cenikor crews have a great reputation for being reliable, responsible, motivated, and courteous and most important, drug free. Through in-house employment, residents get on-the-job experience and build important business skills by holding positions in the treatment center. Cenikor's program builds work skills and a work ethic which serves the resident well beyond treatment. Personal ResponsibilityPersonal Responsibility is being accountable to one's self, fellow residents and the Cenikor staff. The residents rely on the staff to act as role models in the environment. One of the most important lessons to be learned at Cenikor is holding one's self accountable for one's actions and becoming honest with one's self. Powered by Webnode CMS.
