The Cenikor Foundation to Begin Looking for Prospective Locations with Plans to Open a 180 Bed Facility in Jackson, Mississippi
The Cenikor Foundation, a nonprofit residential substance abuse treatment program, met with community and government leaders in Jackson, Mississippi as part of the organization's effort to open a substance treatment center in Jackson. After a brief tour of Jackson and reviewing the city's needs related to drug treatment, the Cenikor Foundation Board of Directors voted to move forward with plans to open a facility. Mayor Frank Melton told board members and community leaders that Jackson has critical need for drug treatment.
Emmit Sparkman, deputy commissioner with the Mississippi Department of Corrections says finding alternatives to incarceration will save dollars for Mississippi taxpayers.
The Cenikor Foundation has identified commercial properties to open a 180 bed treatment center in the fall of 2008.
