Adult long-term residential care

The sole requirement to be accepted into Cenikor's adult long-term treatment facilities is a simple, but profound: you must have a strong desire to change. The program is designed for people who are physically ready, mentally capable and willing to participate in all aspects of the recovery program, including work therapy.

Cenikor's residential therapeutic community model uses peer influence and clinical counseling to help residents change attitudes, behaviors and perceptions associated with substance abuse. Career Services is a vital component. Our staff assists residents in identifying beneficial education and career opportunities that can result in meaningful employment upon completion of the Cenikor program.

The program lasts for approximately 18 to 24 months.

Adult short-term residential care

Our short-term residential program, located in the Joseph R. Briscoe Treatment Facility, provides non-emergency care and includes a planned, professionally implemented regimen for people with co-occuring substance abuse use and mental health disorders. Comprehensive, individualized treatment plans include individual and group counseling, education for gender-specific issues, life skills training for clients and education for family members.

Detoxification

The Joseph R. Briscoe Treatment Facility includes a medically supported acute-care detoxification unit that provides stabilization for people going through active withdrawal symptoms associated with recent substance abuse. This is a critical period in the treatment process, and professional assistance is especially important. Medical support, including individualized medication protocols, is provided around the clock along with individual and group counseling.
