Families First

Addiction doesn't just affect the substance abuser - it's a family disease. The Families First program brings together family members of Cenikor residents working toward recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs.

The Families First program was developed by Cenikor. It is a forum for healing for both the resident and family members, it educates family members about the impact of the disease on family functioning, and focuses on the strengths of the family and helps both the resident and family members build recovery capital.

For more information on the Families First program, contact the location the resident is residing at, or click here to send an email.

The Families First sessions consists of the following elements:

  • A four-week program designed to help make families stronger and better.
  • Help break the cycle of addiction by clearly defining the cause and solution.
  • Attendance through the entire four-week program increases the benefits of being actively involved in family healing.
  • Valuable information on the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs, with first hand knowledge provided by the users themselves.
  • Work with Cenikor residents to help understand addiction  and recovery from a collaborative perspective.
  • Cenikor's program services, including Families First, are governed by federal and state laws surrounding the confidentiality of our residents. Anything witnessed or discussed in Families First sessions is confidential.
