Families First

Addiction doesn't just affect the substance abuser - it's a family disease. The resident didn't become addicted overnight and the recovery process stemming from years of abuse won't happen overnight either. The more effort and open-mindedness each person involved brings to Families First program, the quicker the pace of growth, healing, and understanding can begin within the family unit. The family's participation in the Families First program will shed light on the disease of addiction and eventually bring an understanding as to what if really means for the resident to be an addict.

The Families First program consists of the following elements:

  • A confidential four week program held at the Cenikor facility where the resident lives.
  • A forum for both the resident and family members to ask questions.
  • An education on the impact of the disease on the family function.
  • An understanding for the family members of the Cenikor program and how it works.
  • Provides valuable information on the abuse of drugs and alcohol from a number of different perspectives, including lon-term recovering addicts.
