    Re: Alcohol Abuse
I have a son who was on drugs but, seems to us he has left that behind as I am able to see at least. But, he seems to have traded the drugs for alcohol more now in which the alcohol has always been their. I asked him why he can’t stop drinking like he did the drugs he said because I just can’t. I asked him why he says I don’t know I just want to drink. I asked him if he would be willing to check in to a substance abuse program. He said if you can find one that we don’t have to pay as we don’t have the financial resources. He has worked as a Nurse Assistant for many years but, his abuse on substance and drinking couldn’t continue with that position. He started working at restaurants and was doing Ok but, we leave in a small town where everyone knows everyone. He would show up to work sober and he managers would tell him you are a good handworker but. He has not been able to get a job because everyone knows he drinks. He hasn’t had a job since June. He has 3 daughters who he loves to dead. His divorce so he lives in our home. (parents home) He has no income at the moment. He has not applied to unemployment because he says the other employers that is there first question they have for you. Well my question is how does he apply to your long term Residential Program and how would he qualified. We are desperate and since he asked me last night if I could find him a place for him to stop drinking. I started looking and someone recommended CENIKOR in Dallas/Fort Worth. Our home town is Laredo, Texas. We are in our 60’s so we would really want our son to get better so he may have a better life for him and his daughter who he adores. I would appreciate is so much if we could get him some help. In Laredo we don’t have any kind of these resources. If someone would contact me I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.
