Cenikor Announces September Luncheon

Houston, March 29th – Cenikor is pleased to announce its Houston annual awareness fundraiser. This year, the event will be a luncheon with the theme “55 Years: Well Beyond Recovery,” which celebrates Cenikor’s 55 years of saving lives through the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. The luncheon will be held at The Briar Club on September 13, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Chairing the luncheon will be addiction advocate Brian Cuban.

“Each year, the community has shown its generous support that allows Cenikor to provide services to the Houston area. This fundraiser will help the almost 1,600 men, women and children who are facing addiction,” said Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor. “For this year’s fundraiser, it is an honor to have Brian Cuban who has made
an impact to the addiction and youth community as chair.”

Brian Cuban, who is in long-term recovery, will also be this year’s featured keynote speaker. Cuban, brother of Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban, is an attorney and author of three books, including his first foray into fiction, The Ambulance Chaser. Since 2007, Brian has been speaking to the public, bar associations, non-profits, and law firms about his addiction and recovery. Following the luncheon, Cuban will be signing copies of The Ambulance Chaser, a thriller about a lawyer who is accused of murder and becomes a fugitive from justice on a desperate search for the one person who can prove his innocence. Cenikor will provide limited copies of the book to luncheon attendees.

During the luncheon, Cenikor will also be presenting four awards for service to Cenikor and the community. These awards are Philanthropist of the Year, Elected Official of the Year, Community Leader of the Year, and Business Partner of the Year.

Tickets and table sponsorships are available now and can be purchased at bidpal.net/cenikor55th.
