New Texas Recovery Housing Programs

The Next Stage of Recovery Support from Cenikor Foundation

HOUSTON – Tuesday, July 13 – Cenikor proudly announces the extension of its full continuum of care at its Houston treatment facility in Deer Park with its new Recovery Housing program. Cenikor is committed to meeting the changing needs of the recovery community, which is why in April, it introduced the Recovery Housing model of care at its Amarillo facility which has since been met with much success. The Corpus Christi and Houston facilities quickly followed suit in May.

The declining demand for the Long-Term Residential program and increasing demand for a Recovery Housing solution facilitated this transition of Cenikor’s long-term solution offering. Renovations will be made to the Corpus Christi and Houston facilities to accommodate the new program structure and upgrade the space.

“It’s an exciting day for Cenikor to be able to offer this modality to support independent living and success in long-term recovery,” says Bill Bailey, President and CEO. “For 55 years, we have been able to change with the times to serve the recovery community, and this helps us do just that.”

The Recovery Housing platform will provide room and meals, teach critical life skills and equip the individual with tools to maintain a successful long-term recovery. Residents will be provided structured support through staff leadership and fellow residents. This change gives the clients the flexibility to tailor their length of residence from as short as 90 days to as long as they wish to remain.

“This program makes recovery not only an option, but a welcoming lifestyle,” adds Eugene Hall, Senior Regional Director of Cenikor. “We look forward to evolving our focus on a peer-based community while carrying the legacy of the long-term program.”

Graduation ceremonies were held last month to celebrate the achievements of those who completed the legacy model of the long-term residential program. This program transition will also be extended to the Fort Worth facility whose grand opening of the Recovery Housing program will be announced at a later date.
