Recovery Support Services: Peer-Based Support That Lasts Beyond Treatment

Experience no-cost and supportive care from your peers after treatment.

Treatment Opens the Door. Recovery Support Services Help You Keep Going.

You’ve finished treatment—what’s next? At Cenikor, we know that the recovery process doesn’t end when your program does.

That’s where Recovery Support Services (RSS) come in. From the moment you start your journey with us, we help you build a plan, make real connections, and stay in touch with a peer who’s been there.

Whether you’re finishing outpatient treatment or stepping down from residential care, RSS is here to help you stay grounded through everyday challenges, like finding housing, getting back to work, or simply creating a routine that feels solid again.

What Sets Us Apart?

Unlike many providers, Cenikor integrates Recovery Support Specialists from the very beginning of treatment. While you’re in care, peers help keep you engaged when motivation drops, share lived experience, and lead psychoeducation or life-skills groups to help you stay connected and confident.

How Do Recovery Support Services Work?

This free service is available to all Cenikor clients, whether you’re in detox, residential, outpatient, or medication-assisted treatment.

Clients don’t need to enroll separately to access RSS during treatment. If you want long-term coaching after treatment, you’ll work with your peer to complete an Enrollment Assessment, and a personalized Recovery Plan. All tools that track your progress over the year.

Laying the Foundation for a Life Well Lived

RSS goes beyond traditional coaching; it’s someone in your corner, offering steady encouragement when life gets overwhelming.

That kind of connection makes a big difference, and it’s one of the reasons so many Cenikor clients don’t just finish treatment – they keep moving forward.

Recovery Is a Process, Not a Finish Line

Finishing treatment is a big deal. But staying steady afterward? That’s where things can get tough.

Triggers pop up when you least expect them. Life gets busy, and even with the best intentions, it’s easy to feel off balance without the right kind of support.

That’s why Cenikor offers Recovery Support Services as part of your full care, not just while you’re in treatment – because long-term recovery isn’t just about willpower. It’s about having people in your corner, access to helpful tools, and someone to connect with when things feel overwhelming.

Impact of Cenikor’s Long-Term Peer Support

Recovery Support Services are here to help you keep growing, even after your treatment ends. We stay connected through one-on-one peer check-ins, recovery events, and help finding the resources you need in your life.

Lifelong Healing, Lifelong Connections

It’s the kind of beneficial long-term support that helps you:

  • Stay motivated and connected
  • Navigate real-life stressors in early recovery
  • Reinforce progress made in treatment
  • Rebuild confidence and independence
  • Create a life that supports sobriety

Peers also assist with practical needs, like obtaining vital documents, connecting you to recovery housing, and locating community resources to support reentry into daily life. These steps help bridge the gap between treatment and lasting stability.

We start supporting you while you’re still in treatment, and we keep showing up after you leave. Recovery isn’t meant to be done alone, and with us and your peer support, you won’t have to.

What to Expect From RSS

Here’s what you’ll receive while utilizing RSS:

  • Peer engagement during treatment, offering encouragement and support
  • Assistance with recovery housing, vital documents, and discharge planning
  • Help accessing community resources such as housing, jobs, and benefits
  • One-on-one long-term coaching for up to a year post-treatment
  • Monthly Alumni Panel Meetings and quarterly Alumni Events
  • Virtual Alumni Panels for long-term connection, regardless of location

Cenikor’s Recovery Community

During treatment, peers lead small groups, offer support when things feel heavy, and show what everyday recovery can look like. Their help is honest, down-to-earth, and grounded in lived experience. They’ve been there, and it shows in how they show up for you.

And, if you decide to keep working with your peers after treatment, you’ll create a personalized recovery plan together. That includes a simple Assessment of Recovery Capital to help identify your strengths, your needs, and what will help you stay empowered in the months ahead.

FAQs

Some common questions our team receives about RSS include:

Who provides Recovery Support Services?

Our certified Recovery Support Specialists are peers with lived experience in recovery. They are trained through the Texas Certification Board or the New Mexico Office of Peer Recovery and Engagement.

Long-term coaching is available for up to one year post-treatment, with monthly contact and regular opportunities to stay involved through alumni events and panel meetings.
