Integrated Services in San Marcos

At Cenikor, we don’t just react to substance use—we work to prevent it, support it, and guide people toward lasting recovery. We meet people where they are, help them build healthy habits, and create spaces where they can connect, grow, and make choices that set them up for a brighter future — because we were built to treat people others turn away.
“Every client who reaches out to Cenikor goes through a comprehensive clinical pre-screening and, upon admission, a full biopsychosocial assessment. This evaluation examines medical history, substance use history and severity, co-occurring behavioral health conditions, trauma history, social supports, and level of motivation for change. Using that information — alongside ASAM placement criteria — our clinical team recommends the level of care and program that best fits the individual’s needs. Treatment is not a fixed track; we monitor progress throughout and step clients up or down in intensity of care based on clinical response. Patients progress through phases where there is no fixed timeframe. Every plan is individualized because no two people arrive with identical needs.” – Grace Welpy, MS,LPC,LCDC
“Cenikor’s clinical programming draws from the modalities with the strongest evidence base in addiction treatment. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy — which targets the distorted thought patterns and maladaptive behaviors that sustain addiction — is a cornerstone. Motivational Interviewing is effective for building intrinsic motivation and reducing ambivalence. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is especially valuable for clients with emotional dysregulation and trauma histories. Twelve-step facilitation remains a valuable peer support framework. Medication-Assisted Treatment with buprenorphine is a first-line evidence-based intervention for opioid use disorder. No single approach is sufficient for all clients, which is why our model is integrative.” – Grace Welpy, MS,LPC,LCDC

Some of the services we offer include:

Prevention Services: Educational programs designed to help youth and communities understand the risks of substance use and build healthy coping skills.

Youth Recovery Community (YRC): A safe, supportive space for young people in recovery to connect with peers, develop life skills, and strengthen their support network.

Project AIM: A prevention initiative that engages youth through interactive activities to promote healthy choices and reduce substance use risk factors.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): Through a City of San Marcos grant, our San Marcos location offers MAT for adults via secure telehealth services.

While all clinical care is delivered remotely, clients visit the site to complete required urinalysis testing. Professional non-clinical staff are present to provide oversight, ensure HIPAA-compliant computer access, and support clients throughout the process.

I just left this amazing place! Nervous not knowing what to expect not wanting to be there. I did 21 days. The 21 days there was life changing. I will always be grateful for this place and the counselors and the staff. Met some people I will never forget and my counselor Cody most importantly. The deep convos we had the way he changed my thought process. I’m sure there are better places but this place won’t disappoint you. Thank you family for changing my life ! Adam

My daughter was recently admitted and I’m so hopeful she will have a positive and life changing experience here. I’ve heard this place has good vibes and helpful staff. I believe she’s in great hands and am excited for her future now that she’s getting some fundamental assistance. I will update with a secondary review after she’s completed her recovery there and give more details at a later date. The facility looks clean and engaging for a young lady here age.

My name is Carter, and I cannot say enough good things about Deer Park Recovery House. I want to think mrs Shannon. She was there for me from the very beginning and made me feel welcome, comfortable, and right at home. She genuinely cared about my recovery and always took the time to listen, encourage, and support me when I needed it most. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication helped me believe in myself and stay focused on my recovery journey. Knowing that someone truly cared made all the difference. Deer Park Recovery House provided me with a safe and supportive environment, and I am incredibly grateful for everything Shannon did to help me succeed. I highly recommend Deer Park Recovery House to anyone looking for a place where they will feel supported, respected, and encouraged every step of the way.

The Veterans Administration sent there originally just to detox which turned into inpatient program and later developed into sober living. The experience left me great full for my recovery. The counselor and techs which are awesome people, very knowledgeable about recovery. That was last year and I'm still sober today. Thanks to God.
