“Community and peer support are not supplementary at Cenikor — they are core therapeutic mechanisms. Our roots in the therapeutic community model mean that the community itself is understood as an agent of change. Shared experience reduces shame in ways that professional guidance alone cannot. Witnessing recovery in peers builds hope and belief in one’s own capacity to change. Accountability within a peer community is often more viscerally meaningful than external pressure. Across all of our programs, we invest in building genuine peer bonds during treatment and sustaining those connections through alumni events, Recovery Support Specialists, and community-based recovery networks after discharge.” – Jason McLemore, BSN, CHW, LCDC-I, RHA (TROHN)

By focusing on early education, skill-building, and community connection, Cenikor Conroe helps reduce the long-term impact of substance use and mental health challenges across Texas. This place really does care in their own way. Could use some more open mindness and kindness with the staff.Maybe a little more tolerance and some mindfulness to client triggers or coping skills for how one feels, but overall we are all human.I left and every staff did their best to prevent it and delay it.annoying, but I still am clean JFT(will be at alumni coming up. God willing)this place should be a stepping stone it does not recover you. They protect their residents the best they know how but some things are not healthy..Non addictive staff should research the 12 step literature if they are a lcdc. Also I was surprised that I knew more than them about the effects of certain chemicals on the brain ex:(serotonin deprivation from prolonged use of MDMA.)I felt very safe here though!
