Substance use education provided at the right time—before heavy use creates problems—can prevent a lifetime of struggle.

Prevention can occur at any point, whether an individual is 6, 16, or 60, and recently prevention services expanded to include education and programming for all ages. To set our youth up for success in life, elementary and afterschool programs take place across many school districts.

From the start, Cenikor has called prevention the first step in its continuum of care, because early intervention can provide coping skills and tools that prevent substance use from taking over a person’s life.
