For those seeking a rehabilitation program that feels human, trustworthy, and rooted in lasting recovery, Cenikor provides the care and connection needed to rebuild a healthier future.
Clarity and routine can help create stability during your path to recovery. Each morning, you or your loved one will follow a consistent, purposeful schedule designed to build skills, strengthen confidence, and support lasting progress.
Here’s what you might be able to expect during a typical day:
8:00 – 9:00 | Psychoeducation
Sessions begin with education on topics such as cravings, stress response, communication, medication safety, and relapse prevention. Clients gain practical strategies they can apply immediately to daily life.
9:00 – 10:00 | Process Group
Led by licensed counselors, this group provides space to discuss current challenges and successes. Participants practice grounding techniques, set realistic goals, and receive supportive feedback from peers.
10:00 – 10:30 | Break and Reset
A brief reset allows time to rest, hydrate, and reflect. Many clients use this window to update coping plans or connect with staff for additional support.
10:30 – 11:30 | Process Group
The morning continues with deeper therapeutic work, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). Clients identify thought patterns and develop healthier ways to respond.
11:30 – 12:30 | Group or Individual Session
Most days conclude with group discussion, while Fridays often include individual counseling for goal review, safety planning, and coordination for the upcoming week.
12:30 – 1:00 | Lunch
Lunch is served daily, giving clients a chance to relax, recharge, and connect with peers before concluding the day or attending any scheduled one-to-one sessions.
1:00 – 3:00 | Individual Counseling and Case Management (as scheduled)
For clients with individual counseling or case management appointments, afternoons are used for focused one-on-one sessions and care coordination. Those without scheduled sessions are typically dismissed after lunch.
Every session at Cenikor serves a clear purpose – nothing is added simply to fill time. Each moment is designed to support meaningful progress, foster accountability, and strengthen the foundation for lasting recovery.
A little preparation can make your first day more comfortable and help you feel confident as you begin care.
We can also provide guidance for other levels of care beyond detox.
If you are entering detox or residential treatment at one of our other locations, we’ll offer a clear packing list to make preparation simple. Those joining the partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient program (IOP) will receive a walkthrough of the weekly schedule to ensure each day feels organized and purposeful from the start.
Everything we use at Cenikor is designed to support real-life recovery. Each session focuses on practical skills you can use when challenges arise, no matter if you’re facing stress, navigating conflict, or managing cravings.
Trauma symptoms and substance use often influence one another. In the Seeking Safety program, the focus is on building stability in the present moment.
You’ll learn grounding techniques, establish boundaries to protect your time and energy, and develop practical ways to recognize what feels safe. Progress doesn’t require revisiting every detail of the past. Skills are practiced in groups and applied in daily life, fostering resilience and steady growth.
Recovery thrives when the plan works beyond the treatment setting. Living in Balance offers focused topics, simple exercises, and actionable steps covering emotions, relationships, health, work, and community resources.
Changes are introduced one at a time, allowing steady progress and growing confidence. Over time, these new habits become a solid foundation supporting long-term recovery.
CBT helps identify quick thoughts before they take control. Here, individuals learn to recognize patterns, explore different responses, and choose actions that support their recovery in the moment.
This approach isn’t about forced positivity – it’s about clear, balanced thinking that eases cravings, reduces reactivity, and fosters choices that build respect and confidence for the future.
In MI, your counselor asks open questions, reflects what they hear, and helps you name reasons that matter to you. You set goals that fit your life and check in on progress without shame.
On hard days, this conversation style helps you reconnect to what matters and keep going, even if it is one small action at a time.
