Samaritan’s Purse Donates to Cenikor Houston Facility

Houston, TX Over the past few years Samaritan’s Purse, a non-denominational organization providing relief to hurting people around the world, has been a Cenikor Foundation supporter. Through their donations, Samaritan’s Purse has helped facilitate the remodeling of Cenikor’s Deer Park location. This included renovating the 92-bed A-Wing, which houses almost 200 people annually and provides rooms for the male clients in the long-term residential program, and the 16-bed D-Wing, which also provides quarters for almost 200 people annually and provides rooms for veteran clients and the expansion of capacity in the detox/short-term residential program. More specifically this renovation gave new life to the residents in these wings by giving them new bedding, new mattresses, new TVs, new couches, new plumbing, and new water lines. This rebuild also included refurbishing showers, flooring, and further upgrades.

In addition, their backing helped Cenikor rebuild their Deer Park community resource center, an education resource center providing adult education for those trying to achieve their General Education Development degree. The Cenikor education resource center professionals also help those in recovery receive literacy training, vocational training, and more.

Through their support, in 2019 Samaritan’s Purse helped 1000-1500 out of the 8000 clients this facility serves annually, achieve better health and better lives.
