Cenikor Announces ARPA Funding from Nueces County, Texas Commissioners Court

Corpus Christi, Texas, August 31st, 2022 – Cenikor, a leading provider of substance and alcohol treatment is pleased to announce that it will receive a $1,000,000 award from Nueces County Commissioners’ Court. The award comes from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), a stimulus package that provides economic relief to businesses and local governments that were impacted by COVID-19. Nueces County is providing this award to improve the Cenikor Corpus Christi facility.

Nueces County Commissioners Court was graciously awarded $1,000,000 of ARPA funding to go toward our capital expansion project at Cenikor Corpus Christi. Cenikor is the leading substance and alcohol use treatment provider that offers a broad spectrum of care for adults and adolescents across Texas and New Mexico.

“We are very thankful to partner with Judge Canales, Commissioner Chesney, Commissioner Gonzalez, Commissioner Hernandez, and Commissioner Marez to expand the Corpus Christi community with increased transitional housing at our Cenikor Corpus Christi location,” said Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor. “We are thankful to Nueces County for this generous award that will allow us to expand our sober living and recovering housing for veterans.”

Cenikor Corpus Christi offers detoxification, intensive residential, supportive residential, and recovery housing. Cenikor’s facility has been a community partner that serves all populations including the large veteran population in the valley-coastal bend area.

Cenikor is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers an array of successful rehabilitation programs, tailored to treat people who want to be free from substance use. Since its inception in 1967, Cenikor has been dedicated to helping those in need. Cenikor continues to evolve to offer supportive services to veterans, adults, and adolescents in several cities across Texas, and neighboring states. More than 300,000 lives have been changed in the process.
