Cenikor Announces Funding from McLennan County

HOUSTON, February 28 – Cenikor announces today that it will receive a $24,500 award from McLennan County Commissioners’ Court. The award comes from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), a stimulus package that provides economic relief to businesses and local governments that were impacted by Covid-19.

Cenikor is a leading substance and alcohol use treatment provider who offers a broad spectrum of care. Since 2012, Cenikor Waco served almost 10,000 individuals. At the beginning of 2020, Cenikor had to delay several capital improvement projects due to Covid-19. Cenikor will be using the funding allocated from ARPA to fund the delayed projects. The projects, once completed, will ensure on the long-term stability of the facility as well as the quality of life standard is met for all clients.

“We had to pause on several projects due to ensuring our commitment to keeping our staff and residents safe when Covid-19 impacted the community,” said Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor. “We are thankful to McLennan County for this generous award that will allow us to resume these projects.”

Cenikor is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers an array of successful rehabilitation programs, tailored to treat people who want to be free from substance use. Since its inception in 1967, Cenikor has been dedicated to helping those in need. Cenikor continues to evolve to offer supportive services to veterans, adults, and adolescents in several cities across Texas, and neighboring states. More than 150,000 lives have been changed in the process.
