Cenikor’s 55 Years Well Beyond Recovery Luncheon was a Success!

Houston, September 14, 2022 – Cenikor, a leading provider of substance and alcohol treatment is pleased to share that it had an exceptionally successful annual fundraiser. This year, Cenikor’s fundraising luncheon had the theme “55 Years: Well Beyond Recovery,” which celebrates our organization’s 55 years of saving lives through the treatment of substance use and alcohol use disorders. The luncheon was held at The Briar Club and was chaired by substance use disorder advocate Brian Cuban and co-chaired by community leader Georgia Provost. We had a successful, “Sold-Out Luncheon” with nearly 200 invited guests, including representation on behalf of U.S. Congressman Al Green, Senator John Whitmire, Representative Alma Allen, Representative Lacey Hull, honorees, leading business partners from our community, and our CEO, Mr. Bill Bailey.

“Each year, the Houston community has shown its generous support that allows Cenikor to provide services to the Houston metro area. This successful fundraiser will vastly help every individuals facing substance use disorder that Cenikor can provide recovery services to,” said Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor. “I want to personally thank Mr. Brian Cuban for being the chair of our event. It was truly an honor for him to be the chair and the keynote speaker for the luncheon because Mr. Cuban has made such a lasting impact to the substance use disorder community.”

During the luncheon, Cenikor presented the following four awards for service to Cenikor and the substance use disorder community advocates. The Cenikor Philanthropist of the Year was awarded to the Texas Veterans Commission. The Cenikor Business Partner of the Year was awarded to Sysco. The Cenikor Community Leader of the Year was awarded to Houston Methodist Hospital. Lastly, the Cenikor Elected Official of the Year was awarded to Senator John Whitmire.

All proceeds from this successful fundraiser will benefit our facilities in programs located in Harris County.

Cenikor is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers an array of successful rehabilitation programs, tailored to treat people who want to be free from substance use. Since its inception in 1967, Cenikor has been dedicated to helping those in need. Cenikor continues to evolve to offer supportive services to veterans, adults, and adolescents in several cities across Texas, and neighboring states. More than 300,000 lives have been changed in the process.
