Cenikor Foundation Honored with “Big Check” from the Texas Veterans Commission

Houston, TX, September 16, 2024— Cenikor, a leading nonprofit behavioral health treatment network serving over 14,000 clients a year, is proud to announce it has been honored with a significant grant from the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) as part of the Governor Greg Abbott and TVC’s Funds for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA) grants. Over $44 million in grants will be distributed to 161 organizations across the state.

The funding was presented on Thursday by Commission Chair Laura Koerner during the Texas Veterans Commission’s Big Check Tour, which celebrated the awarding of grants to numerous veteran service organizations across the Gulf Coast area.

The generous grant will enable Cenikor to provide vital clinical counseling services to over 41,000 veterans and their families across a broad region that includes Knox County, Lamb County, Lampasas County, Lavaca County, Lee County, Leon County, Liberty County, Limestone County, Lipscomb County, Live Oak County, Llano County, Lubbock County, Lynn County, Madison County, Matagorda County, McLennan County, McMullen County, Milam County, Mills County, Mitchell County, Montgomery County, Moore County, Motley County, Nolan County, Nueces County, and Ochiltree County.

The Texas Veterans Commission’s Big Check Tour is a statewide initiative aimed at distributing crucial funds to organizations that support veterans. This year’s grants highlight the TVC’s commitment to improving the lives of veterans through comprehensive support services.
