Houston, TX, July 25, 2024— Cenikor, a leading nonprofit behavioral health treatment network serving over 14,000 people a year, is proud to announce its strengthened collaboration with lawyers and justice personnel, expanding access to treatment for individuals with addiction. Substance use is a factor in many crimes, and coordination with organizations serving the justice system helps ensure individuals have treatment options before they go to court, as a part of probation, or when they are released from jail.
Cenikor’s new community partnership program aims to streamline the process of directing individuals with legal challenges related to substance use into evidence-based treatment programs. This partnership is designed to offer an alternative to incarceration, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery as a means to reduce recidivism and promote long-term well-being.
“Getting someone out of jail and into treatment is a big deal,” said Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor. “This program allows people with substance use disorder accused of minor crimes to be diverted to us instead of a jail cell. It solves the underlying issue, instead of keeping them in the cycle of addiction and jails.”
Cenikor’s levels of integrated care include:
- Detoxification: Medically supervised detox to manage withdrawal symptoms safely and comfortably.
- Inpatient Residential Treatment: Comprehensive care in a structured environment, providing intensive support and therapy.
- Outpatient Services: Flexible treatment options that allow individuals to maintain daily responsibilities while receiving care.
- Medication-Assisted Treatment: This program adds FDA-approved medication for opioid use disorder to our continuum of care, from detox through residential treatment to aftercare.
- Recovery Housing: Cenikor’s sober living program lets men explore independent living while still receiving essential recovery support.
- Recovery Support Services & Alumni: These programs provide support and community after rehab through recovery coaching and fun, sober events.
Cenikor has been helping people with substance use disorder for nearly 60 years. Through evidence-based, clinical programs, clients develop tools to live successfully sober and achieve long-term recovery. Because Cenikor is a nonprofit, clients can receive high-quality care that is also affordable.
